IV nutritional therapy in Boise, Meridian, and Caldwell Idaho

What is IV Nutrition Therapy, and why should you consider it?

IV nutrition therapy isn’t simply for when you’re sick. There are many daily benefits as well! When it comes to staying healthy and making sure you are getting your nutrients, oral supplements are one of the most common methods of maintaining your body’s sufficient daily nutritional intake. However, there are severe limitations to oral supplements that can simply never provide some of the necessary nutrition that most people’s bodies require.

Oral supplements
One of the biggest drawbacks of taking daily vitamins and nutritional supplements orally is that your body can only absorb so much through the digestive process regardless of the amount you take. The drawback of this is that if your body requires more than what your body can absorb via digestion, you’re not giving your body the total amount it requires. This is especially so if someone is ill or malnourished. Even protein intake is limited! According to the US National Library of Medicine, “muscle protein synthesis is maximized in young adults with an intake of ~ 20–25 g of a high-quality protein; anything above this amount is believed to be oxidized for energy or transaminated to form urea and other organic acids.” This is the same for other common oral supplements such as vitamin C, D, B6 and B12, iron, and much more. Your body can only absorb so much through digestion and a lot of the time, your body requires more than that.

IV Therapy

Here lies the true benefits of IV nutritional therapy. The difference between oral supplements and IV nutritional therapy comes down to their delivery systems. With oral supplements, It takes time and a lot of energy for your body to break those vitamins and supplements down and deliver them to your bloodstream. Even water-soluble supplements are very large molecules your body still has to break down just to pass from your intestinal tract to your bloodstream. IV therapy delivers what your body needs, directly to your bloodstream and FAST! No wasted energy digesting, no wasted nutrients. You get what your body needs almost instantly.

When you get an IV therapy treatment, you skip the “long line” of digestion, all the wasted energy that is used in sending those nutrients to your bloodstream. You receive what your body needs where it needs it. The best way to describe it is if you’re at a theme park in line for your favorite roller coaster. The normal line is a 2 hour wait but the fast pass line is only 10 minutes long! You could stand for 2 hours, burn a lot of energy, potentially getting thirsty and hungry waiting in this line, or you can take the fastpass and within 10 min, you’re on your favorite ride, feeling energized and full of life!

With IV therapy you skip the long, tiresome line and provide your body what it needs, almost immediately. Within 10 minutes after an IV therapy treatment, you will feel the effects, and it definitely is a noticeable improvement! There are a copious amount of other benefits to IV nutritional therapy as well.
