Barber Park

Barber Park is a place where you get everything you need to have a great vacation-like experience. Rent out a raft and get on for some fun on the Boise River with your friends. The lush green grass covering a large area of this park makes it a perfect place to just lay down and relax. For fitness enthusiasts, it has fine-stoned pathways where they can jog and cycle to their heart’s content. Visit it for a nice and quiet time.

Located in the district of Barber in the County of Ada in the city of Boise, ID, the Barber Municipal Park is best known as the starting point of the Float the Boise River rafting and tubing trips. The park also has an Event Center which may be hired for Weddings and other Activities. A lot of wildlife can be seen from the park, even Bald Eagles.

More than 120 species have been identified in the park over the years, including Great Blue Heron (they roost just west of the park), common Mallard Ducks, Common Goldeneye, Black-chinned Hummingbirds, etc are all seen. The best time of day for wildlife viewing is in the early morning and late afternoon hours. Fox, squirrels, and garter snakes are the most commonly seen land animals.  Beaver, gray fox, and muskrat are also present but rarely spotted as of course it is a perfect landscape for them to hide.  Deer are also spotted roaming the park in the fall and early spring. Even Elk have been spotted.
