Teresa Gabiola Shelton
Teresa Gabiola Shelton, MPAS, PA-C is an Advanced Practitioner at the Healthy Habits Wellness Clinic, providing patient care at our Meridian, Idaho, and Caldwell, Idaho locations. She worked for several years as a family practice Physician Assistant in Utah and Idaho, then changed to Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Age Management, and Integrative Medicine. Focusing her practice in medical weight loss, metabolic dysfunction, and in diagnosing and treating hormonal imbalances with bio-identical hormone therapies, offers her more opportunities to discover root causes and potential cures to disease.
Empowered by combining traditional and functional/integrative medicine, Teresa finds this practice incredibly rewarding. "We are able to find root causes of illness and treat them with a combination of nutrition and supplements, lifestyle changes, bio-identical prescribed treatments, and above all, new options many patients have never heard of to function and feel better."
Teresa is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants. She is also a co-author of the book "Evidence-Based Practice for Health Professionals: An Interprofessional Approach". Published in 2013, with the second edition due to release in early 2019. The text is used as a guide to dissecting and using clinical studies for critical thinking and medical decision making in medical training schools and programs. She has also dedicated time as a guest lecturer at Idaho State University’s Physician Assistant Program on Hormones and Integrative Family Practice.
