Susan Brighton, APRN-CNP
Location: Meridian, Idaho
Dysport, Eclipse MicroPen, Restylane®, Latisse®, Medical Weight Loss, PRP
Susan discovered her passion for medicine at a very young age. This passion prompted her to seek her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Brigham Young University where she graduated in 2006. She then sought further erudition at the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2008. Susan’s plane of knowledge and experience in, Aesthetics, Pain Management and Medical Weight Loss is only superseded by her desire to help others and her hunger to make a significant difference in her patient’s lives.
Teresa Gabiola Shelton, MPAS, PA-C
Location: Meridian, Idaho
Teresa joined Healthy Habits Wellness with an extensive background in Family Practice and Urgent Care. However, she has held a special interest in Bioidentical Hormone Treatment as well as Medical Weight Loss for quite some time which steered her toward a career with Healthy Habits Wellness. Teresa’s foremost focus is patient wellness and their quality of life. She lives to help patients achieve their best sense of self and health.
Teresa graduated with her bachelor’s degree from University of Idaho in International Business. She spent more than 10 years working in sales for the travel and pharmaceutical industries before transitioning into healthcare. Teresa felt she was could do more for people. She wanted a more hands on and service-oriented career as a healthcare provider. After 2 years as a Medical Assistant, she started training at Idaho State University under the PA program. After completion of the program she spent the next 5 years working in medically-underserved community health care clinics to provide healthcare to underprivileged neighborhoods. During those 5 years, she discovered that treating current or immediate issues did not lead her patients to long-term cures. There was limited research, and no guided effort in traditional medicine to finding permanent solutions; nor any implementation offering opportunities for patients to take charge of their own health
Teresa is also a co-author of a textbook on Evidence-Based Practice for clinicians which has been implemented in medical and allied health training curriculum throughout the US over the past 3 years. A dedicated researcher, she has sought clinically proven, well-researched diagnostic and treatment approaches to all of her patient’s health care needs reaching for the most optimal results. She is dedicated to blending traditional and alternative medicine options to tailor a patient specific treatment program for the individual need of each person. Her passion is to help everyone set and meet their specific wellness goals.
A native of Idaho, Teresa has also lived abroad many times in Spain (the Basque Country) and even worked in Mexico. She is extremely proud of her shared Hispanic culture with all of her Spanish speaking patients. In addition to her busy career of tending to her patient’s needs, Teresa also enjoys volunteering her time with the Euskaldunak Basque Club. She currently resides in Boise with her husband Brett and 2 sons. Her entire family practices a healthy lifestyle and she delights in sharing her experiences to help guide her patients into a longer, healthier, and more satisfying lifestyle.
